MySlim: My Miracle - I Lost 9 Pounds in 1 Month Without Exercise!

I am pretty excited to share my latest weight loss find with you because get this: it actually works. Yup. I lost nine pounds in one month without any exercise.

Now, let me share a bit of my backstory before I introduce you to the product. I was pregnant at the beginning of this year, but then I lost my baby on February 6. Since then, I wallowed in a sea of depression and ate my feelings. And I had a lot of feelings. A few months later, I enrolled at Gold's Gym as per usual only to get sick various times making it practically impossible for me to hit the gym, no matter how badly I wanted to.

Enter the miracle worker that is MySlim. I heard about MySlim from a colleague who had written about it on WhenInManila.com. While I knew I would have no trouble drinking the capsules twice a day, the thought of LBM from the strawberry drink scared me a little... but not enough to scare me off completely.

Armed with two bottles of 30 capsules each and four bottles of the complementing strawberry drink, I began my journey to *fingers crossed* weight loss. Keep in mind that I could not work out during this entire time, so all I did was a bit of light exercise (aka walking around the mall, and to and from work).

As directed, I took the capsules twice a day. I wasn't too strict as to when I took them, though. After all, there were days when I'd skip breakfast to sleep and other days when I'd forget to take them completely. Unlike with other caffeinated fat burners I had tried in the past, I didn't feel anything different after taking MySlim. My heart didn't palpitate. I didn't feel crazily alert. And I wasn't scared to drink coffee in fear that I'd be bouncing off the walls. I'd just go about my day as normal.

Now, for the strawberry drink, it has to be said that I'm not much of a pooper. I don't know how else to put it. I just don't go to the bathroom much. At most, I'd say I do a deuce about three to five times a month. Yeah, I know. I'm a freak. As such, I was pretty excited yet scared to drink the MySlim drink because I heard I'd be spending the whole day on the toilet after drinking it.

As such, I made sure that I'd be home the whole day after I drank my first MySlim drink. Unfortunately, while I woke up pretty excited about the whole debacle, I didn't feel a thing. Yeah, nothing happened. Still, I hoped that the drink was still doing its business in my belly despite its lack of showmanship.

So, the following week, I decided to drink it again, but worried far less about it. Okay, fine, so I wasn't worried at all. In fact, I drank it the night before a big date with my boyfriend. That night, before I even slept, I hit the bathroom twice. And the following morning, I went three more times. I got a bit freaked out every time I ate that day and prayed nothing would happen, and voila! God was on my side and ensured I didn't dash to the bathroom anymore that day.

The third time I took it, I went three times in the morning, but that was about it.

It is recommended to drink this drink twice a week. However, if you have a busy schedule like I do, I guess anytime you can is better than never at all.

Now, for the results... I didn't really think about the weight loss all that much. I just lived life and ate as usual. And then two weeks later, I noticed that I could slip off my formerly-tight shorts without unbuttoning them. That's when I learned I had lost six pounds. Another two weeks later, I had lost three more.

While I didn't go on a diet or exercise, it was pretty evident that the capsules had an appetite suppressant effect. As such, I definitely cut down on snacking since I didn't have any weird cravings to satisfy. If there was anything that I did crave, it was water. Stay hydrated. Doing so will also ensure that your tummy is full at all times, so you won't each a lot.

Aside from that, these babies will burn your fat with minimal exercise, so now that I'm better and sickness-less, I can't wait to buy some more and see how they will fare when matched with a solid workout routine. Hello, road to sexy. I am officially back. Thank you, MySlim. You're the bomb.

Fantastic Four Movie Review: It's Not So Fantastic #smh

Let me just save you some money this weekend and tell you not to watch Fantastic Four… or should I say NOT SO Fantastic Four. #smh

It's sad, really. The reboot of Fantastic Four had so much potential. The hype that it built up with its amazing trailer was off the charts, the cast was phenomenal, the CGI was terrific, but somehow it still fell short. Sigh. #smh

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely LOVED the first 45 minutes of the movie. I loved the buildup of the friendships and the characters. I loved the cast. I loved the easy way the story flowed.

I cringed a little by the try-hard way they made the audience laugh, but shrugged it off coz everything else was going pretty smoothly.

In fact, I was so invested in the characters, I almost cried when I saw The Thing and I hated Reed with a passion for a short lil while. But that's when I still loved the movie.

And my gahd, did I squeal when they reached the other dimension. I also died of happiness a little inside when they all got their powers. And then, right after the return of Doom, they lost me. Completely. #smh

Not lost in the sense that I was confused or anything. They kinda just rushed everything after that. Not to mention the fact that the setting was very Terminator Genisys. Except Genisys was better. And that's not saying much. #smh

And the worst part? We waited til the end of the credits with hopes that the after-credits would salvage the movie. THERE WERE NO AFTER-CREDITS. So yeah, that was even more time wasted. #smh

Fantastic Four ruined what could have potentially been a great new beginning for the team. Is it better than the old one? Yeah, I'd say so. I like the darker mood. I like the cast. But they definitely should not have rushed the second half like that.

Is it worth your time and money? I'd say not. Go watch Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation instead. Now THAT's an AMAZING movie. But hey, have I mentioned that I like the cast? :p

The Two of Us Against the World.

Three years ago, I made the decision to be a single mom. I left the babydaddy. I moved back in with my parents. And I raised my daughter without a father. Looking back, it was one of the hardest decisions of my life, but looking at my daughter today, I know that it was the right one.

Three years ago, my mother sat me down for the only heart-to-heart talk we have ever had in the 25 years of my existence and she practically begged me to reconsider. Henry is a good guy, she said. Syrena deserves to grow up in a family that isn't broken, she said.

A family that isn't broken, but that isn't full of love, either? No, thanks.

See, what I never told my mother is that I had witnessed Henry strike my 2-year-old like she was a fly that needed to die. What I never told my mother is that I once locked myself in the bathroom after he hit me and I spent a good hour texting my friends, trying to get them to "rescue" me. (No one did.)

What I never told my mother is that I was starving myself, living off of Skyflakes and boiled water (yes… not even real water… faucet water that I boiled and then stuck in the fridge), so that I could pay for the bills because Henry was no longer helping me pay for them.

What I never told my mother is that I had to leave the apartment whenever Henry texted because his new girlfriend was coming over and then, when they left, I would go into our bedroom and sleep on sheets that stank of sex and cigarettes as the new girlfriend left her makeup brushes on my dresser and on my washing machine and posted things on Facebook like her travel plans with my daughter's father.

A man who has money to travel with his girlfriend, but doesn't have money to feed his child? Yes, it was time to stop fighting it and just pack up and go.

Now, three years later and still living with my dad, you could say that I took a few steps backward, but I didn't. I moved out of the house as a teenager and lived alone for a good chunk of my younger years and I have been working various jobs since I was 15; so, if anything, I'm just making up for lost time.

And as for my daughter? Well, she was able to grow up with my dad as her dad and everyone knows my dad is the bestest. :p

Aside from that, I got to raise her the way I have always wanted to raise my children: in a non-spoiled, utterly independent way that her father always disapproved of.

And the best part? While her dad may have opted out of our lives because he was not ready to have her at the time when we did, Syrena now has the freedom to choose her own dad.

Until then, however, I am enjoying my time with her. The two of us against the world. As Stitch put it, "It's little, and broken, but still good." And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Paper Towns Movie Review: The Best High School Movie of This Generation

I've read every single John Green book out there and Looking for Alaska is one of my favorite books of all time. However, I found myself being really disappointed by An Abundance of Katherines and Paper Towns, for some reason. It isn't until The Fault in Our Stars that I found my love for John Green again. That's why I was so surprised to have fallen in love with Paper Towns: The Movie.

What I didn't like about Paper Towns: The Book is that I couldn't relate with any of the characters. While the writing was witty and the story was fluid and the book was actually nice as a whole, I found that it lacked that oomph to make it an amazing read. And that's what the cast of Paper Towns: The Movie has done. It gave it the extra oomph that the book needed.

Cara Delevingne is a revelation as Margo Roth Spiegelman, playing her in a way that feels incredibly natural, casual and cool. Seeing Cara on-screen, it wasn't hard to believe that people loved her. In the book, I couldn't really understand why Q liked her so much. In fact, Cara's Margo is so cool, she makes hoodies, Post-Its and jejetext look cool.

And of course, my love Nate Wolff, is still as brilliant as ever, playing Q in the same effortless and believable way he has played in Stuck in Love and in The Fault in Our Stars in the past.

Even the supporting cast is great and will make you feel like they are all good friends in real life. In fact, the cast is so good, you'll hardly notice the time pass by as you watch the movie and, by the end of it, you'll feel like they are all family.

Of course, every good high school movie needs a good soundtrack and this one definitely delivers - with the Pokemon theme song at the fore. :p

And oh, wait for the epic dragon tattoo cameo that will make your lady bits squeal. ;)

Like my favorite high school movie The Breakfast Club, Paper Towns proves that you don't need too much money to produce a classic film. Good music, good quotes and a good cast can go such a long way.
