Hair Loss: The Causes and Remedies that You Need to Know

There are various causes for hair loss in women and, believe it or not, I have been a victim of one of these causes myself. While my cause of hair loss was the hormonal imbalance that came with my pregnancy, it goes without saying that hair loss may hit you when you least expect it, too.

Hi guys, I'm sorry. I know I've been neglecting my blog recently. The thing is I've gotten promoted to Managing Editor on When in Manila and it has become more important to me than life itself. Haha.

To be honest, I don't really have much time for anything else nowadays. Not that I'm complaining; it's just a fact.

I've been busy editing articles, going to events and replying to a lot of emails (understatement of the century!) In fact, my email inbox is so full that I have to bring my laptop everywhere and find time to be productive whenever I can.

Otherwise, I check my mail at night and mentally shoot myself in the throat. :p

So, yeah. Generally speaking, life's been pretty good for me. :) "The Walking Dead" is back. I've been reading more books (currently re-reading "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman). And I am currently obsessed with a movie called "Stuck in Love" and the song "Between the Bars" by Elliott Smith.

Folded & Hung Famous Salon - I Am Famous Once Again!

Do you remember my very first experience with Folded & Hung's Famous Salon? I definitely do. Well, since then, Folded & Hung has opened two more branches of their Famous Salon - one in Greenhills and the other in Glorietta 5, which is the branch that I went to during my last visit.

While I love the Glorietta 5 branch of Famous Salon coz it's much easier to get to compared to its Robinsons Place Manila counterpart, it didn't have that oomph factor: that is, the cafe. :(

Which is why I sat down looking like this. Haha. I know, I know. I need to tame that hair! :p

The good news is that they did have the same awesome walls that reminded me of my college condo days, though. <3

I also had the same company :)

What makes this particular Famous Salon visit better than the last one that I featured, though, would definitely be my hair stylist, Vince. The minute he said "I love girls with short hair," I knew we would get along swimmingly.

I pretty much went through the regular process of hair salon-ing. I got my hair blown.

And then I got my hair colored. Vince chose a Mocha color for me because he didn't think that I should go for the crazy red or crazy blue that I was originally hoping for - and I trusted him. :p

And I got my hair treated! Spot the pretty Charlene behind my pa-cute smile. :p

And then it was time to cut my hair. I am so used to hair stylists putting down short hair, talking me out of getting my hair cut and basically just being against short hair, in general; so Vince was a refreshing change. :)

I was pleasantly surprised when he said he wanted to cut my hair even shorter (think Miley!) and when he told me that my short hair matches my strong personality. (Naks! Close agad!)

Seriously, though, Vince is the bomb. Look for him at Famous Salon when you go. You won't regret it :)

He even gave me awesome styling tips for my short hair and introduced me to Cynos camopaste, which is like a miracle product for short hair! I need to get my hands on some of that shit, I swear!

While this particular Famous visit didn't really feel like a "blogger's event" like the last one did, Vince definitely ensured that I left with a smile on my face. Thank you, Vince! I will be back for you! Haha. :)

Cetaphil - Because Rashes Aren't Just for Kids

As mentioned in one of my previous blog posts, Syrena has been using Cetaphil products ever since she was a baby. I used to think that babies were the only ones who could experience the symptoms of rashes and so, I never really made much of an effort in learning how to get rid of rashes in any way.

Imagine my surprise, when at an event sometime last month, Seph showed up with rashes on his neck. I found it a lil funny that a grown man would still experience rashes but lo and behold... I ended up getting rashes on my neck yesterday! And Seph and I are already in our 20s!!! :(

I'm not sure what the reasons are behind Seph's rashes, but I got mine from fake jewelry... Sigh.

Call Me Hawkeye

Believe it or not, there are a lot of comic book characters that I am not particularly fond of - and Hawkeye is one of them.

There are various reasons behind this.

First of all, I always through Hawkeye looked... fruity. :p I also didn't like how he always ran after Black Widow in such a stalker-ish, obsessed manner.

So, why did I decide to come up with a Hawkeye-inspired outfit, then? Well, I tried archery for the first time at Kodanda Archery Range and fell in love with it and figured an archer-inspired outfit would do the trick. Of course, it helps that Hollywood cast one of my celebrity lovers, Jeremy Renner, in the role of Hawkeye in "The Avengers"; so I'm trying to like the character better. :p

It's all in the name of love!

One of my favorite bags because I can stuff a ton of stuff in it, this Outdoor Products bag is the bomb - especially because I can carry a ton of heavy stuff in it without having to worry about it breaking on me. Definitely the most durable bag I've had to date! :) It can be carried several ways, as well. See how it looks when I carry it with its other straps here.
