Don't Miss the Giltbox Beauty Fair Tomorrow (It's Free of Charge!)

Have you heard of Giltbox yet? In case you haven't, this is the time to familiarize yourself with the brand.

Giltbox is the leading beauty and lifestyle retailer in the country and they are set to have their first ever Beauty Fair tomorrow, which you definitely shouldn't miss if you're a beauty junkie!

You can look forward to more than 40 booths from Giltbox's partner international and local brands, ranging from makeup to skincare to haircare to lifestyle products. And that's not all. There will also be various activities that you can enjoy with your besties, like beauty consultations, makeovers, discounts, and freebies for the attendees.

The highlight will definitely be the Make Your Own Giltbox activity, though, where you can make your own Giltbox consisting of 5 high end products (with brands like Benefit Cosmetics, Clinique, TRESemme, and more).

The best part? Everyone is invited and entrance to the Beauty Fair is completely free. Giltbox's Founder and Managing Director Paul Dimafelix shares, “We wanted this event to be open to all beauty enthusiasts and also to those who are beauty curious. People love makeovers and consultations, so we made sure that the event would have loads of that. Plus, if you get bored, you can just walk around the booths – you’re bound to find something you’ll like!”

See you there? :)

Snow Skin Whitening Products Will Help You Look Good and Smell Good

By now, you should know that I am a huge fan of Vida Nutriscience products. After all, MySlim helped me lose a ton of weight (will be blogging about that miracle again soon!) and Snow Caps has proven to give me a sort of 'glow' whenever I take them. Well, Snow Caps also happens to have sister products: the Snow Skin Whitening Cream and the Snow Skin Whitening Lotion, both of which are both pretty straightforward to use.

Snow Skin Whitening Lotion
Snow Skin Whitening Lotion

For the Snow Skin Whitening Cream, simply apply a generous amount on your face after cleansing and toning. For the Snow Skin Whitening Lotion, simply apply it all over your body. Both products penetrate into the skin and target any uneven skin tones, particularly on the elbows, knees, nape and neck - so make sure you really put a lot of it all over your entire body!

Those particular parts aside, these products can also help reverse skin problems like dark spots, age spots, acne marks, old scars, uneven skin tone and melanoma.

Snow Skin Whitening
I love how the packaging is so tight and well-protected! It had so much tape on it, I didn't worry about having gotten a bad product in any way.

The best part is that both of these products are all natural, which means they aren't chemically modified in any way. They also serve as great moisturisers and protect the skin cells against UV radiation. They also promote healing and reduce the discolouration of scars - something that someone as clumsy as me is really happy about.

Snow Skin Whitening Cream Snow Skin Whitening Lotion

And did I mention that they smell really good? Coz they do! In fact, I don't wear any perfume whenever I put on the lotion - it works as one on its own.

Now, did I get whiter from it? It's hard to tell because I'm under the sun a lot, but I use the lotion and the cream without the intentions of getting whiter anyway. I just love the smell and how soft they make me feel everyday - the whitening is just secondary. :) Will update you again if I ever spend a month without standing under the sun. :p (I'm a sun bum - I'm sorry!)

Vitress Hair Polish - The Perfect Way to Keep Stubborn Hair at Bay

Vitress Hair Polish - The Perfect Way to Keep Stubborn Hair at Bay

Not a lot of people know this, but my hair is stubborn AF. Ever since I got my hair cut, it's been an absolute pain to get it to follow my wishes and orders, so what I did for most of the baby-months of my new hair was just hide it under a beanie or a fedora hat.

Not exactly the most fun way to treat new hair, but it was better than spending hours trying to figure out how wax works (it doesn't) and straightening my hair out with an iron (who has time for that?).

As such, the only people who were able to see my unfixed hair were those who gym with me or caught me at the gym. Since I want to make a point, though, here's me with poofy, gross, I-don't-care-what-you-want-Imma-be-rebellious hair:

before Vitress Hair Polish came into my life

The good news is that I finally found the perfect product to keep my stubborn hair at bay: Vitress hair polish. I swear: just a 1-peso-coin-big blob of this product is enough to destress my mind from worrying about how crappy my hair looks. Ask any of my friends: I bring this shiz with me everywhurr!

Vitress Hair Polish

Yay for Vitress Hair Polish!

Plus, after commuting aka sitting on a trike, a jeep or a non-air-conditioned bus that just messes up my hair even more than its already-messed-upness, Vitress hair polish helps tame it down and make it smell commute-free. :)

Aw yeah! Flatter hair FTW!

I'm gonna be honest and say that I didn't see much of a point in Vitress back when I had longer hair coz my hair was as bagsak as they come back then; but now that I've got unruly, short hair, it is definitely the ultimate lifesaver. Try it out yourself! :)

Cetaphil - Because Rashes Aren't Just for Kids

As mentioned in one of my previous blog posts, Syrena has been using Cetaphil products ever since she was a baby. I used to think that babies were the only ones who could experience the symptoms of rashes and so, I never really made much of an effort in learning how to get rid of rashes in any way.

Imagine my surprise, when at an event sometime last month, Seph showed up with rashes on his neck. I found it a lil funny that a grown man would still experience rashes but lo and behold... I ended up getting rashes on my neck yesterday! And Seph and I are already in our 20s!!! :(

I'm not sure what the reasons are behind Seph's rashes, but I got mine from fake jewelry... Sigh.

Protect yourself from rashes by using Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil's Moisturizing Lotion or, if it's too late because the rashes have already broken out, use the aforementioned products to relieve yourself of the itchiness. It actually works - trust me! :)

Naturally, it would also help to arm yourself with more knowledge on rashes, in general, to keep yourself as safe as humanly possible.

For more information on Cetaphil's products, like Cetaphil Philippines on Facebook and follow them on Twitter :)

Hayan Korea Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream Review

Honestly now: do you take care of your hands?

I never really cared much for hand care myself and never really saw the point... until I got introduced to Hayan Korea's Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream, that is.

To be honest, the only reason why I tried Hayan Korea's Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream was because it was given to me, so I thought I might as well use it.

What I didn't realize is that, with my line of work (I'm a writer, so I spend 100% of my working hours typing), hand care is actually of the utmost importance.

I still remember the first time I massaged Hayan Korea's Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream into my hands. I just sat there, really enjoying the massage, and then spent the rest of the night smelling my hands because they reminded me of my childhood. I'm not sure why, but I'm convinced it smells like one of the bath products we used in L.A. Anyway, I have been using Hayan Korea's Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream ever since!

Even if your line of work doesn't really involve your hands, it is very important to take care of them on a daily basis. After all, feet aside, hands are probably the most overused parts of our bodies. Plus, they are the main pathways of germ transmission.

The best part is that Hayan Korea's Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream is well worth the money. You don't need a lot of the product to massage into your hands every time and you don't need to keep reapplying it unless you have really dry skin, either. Heck, it won't even expire until two years after you open it!

Hayan Korea's Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream is especially great because the vitamin C in it is easily absorbed by the skin, reducing sebum production and smoothening the hands almost instantly. You will notice the difference in just a few days and so will your significant other (if existing) when you hold hands! ;p

If you massage it in properly, Hayan Korea's Multi-Vitamin Hand Cream will also take care of dirty cuticles and leave you with clear and shiny results for as long as you use the product. :)

If you are interested in this product, then today is your lucky day because Hayan Korea is currently giving this product away on their Facebook page until September 26, 2013! Woot! :D

For more information and updates, like Hayan Korea on Facebook and follow them on Twitter :)

Do You Remember? (A Cetaphil Giveaway!)

I personally do not remember the last time I felt as carefree as my daughter seems to be on a daily basis. I think her biggest problems in life right now involve how to convince me that eating candy on a daily basis is good for her and that, no, she cannot have too many Hello Kitty items in her closet. (Yes, for all intents and purposes, Syrena has her own closet. And her own shoe rack.)

While it might sound depressing to hear that I have completely forgone my own carefree moments, the good news is that a single giggle or a mere dimpled smile from Syrena is enough to make me feel better, no matter what kind of mood I'm in.

I dare you not to smile right now.

grey animal beanie - gift from the babydaddy's girlfriend

white Hello Kitty shorts from SM Kids Fashion

Got all of these Hello Kitty items on sale and Syrena even checked our shopping bags before leaving the mall, just to make sure they were in there! #smartkid

silver sandals from Sugar Kids at SM Department Store

Like mother, like daughter.
As always. :p

Aside from making strange poses during outfit shots, another thing that Syrena got from me is my morbidness. Lol. One night, after watching "Finding Nemo" for the first time, I asked Syrena what she thought of the movie. "I didn't like the ending," she said. "Why? How did you want it to end?" I asked. Her answer? "The sharks come and eat all of the fish." :)) Epic.

Carefreeness aside, another child-like thing that I have completely forgone is baby smooth skin. Since my mother never really took care of my skin while I was growing up, I have always made it a point to take very good care of Syrena's skin.

Because of this, I have used nothing but Cetaphil on her ever since we moved here two years ago. Fortunately, Cetaphil is mild enough to suit even the skin of newborns. :) Don't believe me? Try it out for yourself by joining this giveaway:

Good luck! :) And, oh, before I go... this is how Gerd treats my kid:

iWhite Facial Cream - Is It a Good Product for Morenas?

If you have been following my blog for a while now, you should remember the step-by-step guide that I posted on How to Use the iWhite Whitening Pack. Well, I have recently tried yet another iWhite product: the iWhite Facial Cream - and here is my in-depth and honest review about it.

iWhite Facial Cream

iWhite Facial Cream Review

As with the iWhite Whitening Pack, I had some trouble getting used to the iWhite Facial Cream. See, the iWhite Facial Cream really makes you fairer. And since I'm morena, this really isn't ideal for my skin tone as it doesn't match my neck in the end - or the rest of my body for that matter. Lol.

Let me show you what I mean:

My Normal No-Makeup Face

After Using the iWhite Facial Cream

Before and After

While a lot of people may prefer the "whiter look", I'm proud of my morena skin and wasn't too pleased with the sudden whitening effect that came about after using the iWhite Facial Cream.

While the whitening of the face does subside a teeny tiny bit a few minutes after the iWhite Facial Cream is applied, it still scares me when I end up putting on too much of the product by mistake.

A Few Minutes After Application

Before and After

Anyway, to avoid looking unnaturally white if you are also morena yourself, here are some personal tips of mine when using the iWhite Facial Cream.

iWhite Facial Cream - Top Tips for Morenas

1. Apply the iWhite Facial Cream on a clean face in the morning instead of right before applying your makeup. This way, you can get used to the color and let it subside as much as possible before you go out.

2. Do not use too much of the iWhite Facial Cream at once if you are a natural morena. This way, you won't get scared off by the intense white color that may occur from too much application of the product.

3. Put on a lot of foundation in your actual skin color on top of the iWhite Facial Cream before going out. This will ensure that you get much closer to your actual skin tone. Even with foundation, though, keep in mind that you will have a fairer and brighter face than usual. So, don't forget to put some on your neck, too!

Please keep in mind that the tips given above are for those with morena skin, though. The iWhite Facial Cream might work perfectly for those who are naturally blessed with fair skin.

Despite all of this, I still make it a point to keep using the iWhite Facial Cream on a daily basis, though. This is because it comes with a ton of other benefits, as well.

iWhite Facial Cream - The Benefits

iWhite Facial Cream

To be honest, they had me hooked at "protects the skin from premature aging". :p

If you aren't sure whether the iWhite Facial Cream would be the right match for you, then the good news is that you can buy a 10ml sachet for only Php20 before committing to a 65ml tube for Php169. The best part is that a sachet can last up to 5 uses if you use it sparingly the way I do as a morena. :)

iWhite Facial Cream

Believe it or not, two times this amount is enough for my entire face.

Conversely, you can join this giveaway and win a gift pack from iWhite Korea!
