Going Crazy at The Big Sale at SM Southmall!

Remember how I said I would be at SM Southmall bright and early to shop at The Big Sale? Well, I may not have been there bright and early, but I definitely shopped. Thank you so much, SM, for the shopping spree! :D

I already knew that I wanted a gazillion of new SM Parisian Shoes, so that is literally the only place I spent my time in. Here are some of the gorgeous shoes I eyed - most of which they sadly didn't have in my size anymore. :(

I don't know about you, but I've had an incredibly hectic week. I've learned that some "friends" that I thought were real friends actually weren't. I've nursed a sick child; which, by the way, really is no joke. I've experienced tremendous heartbreak within the family and witnessed sadness within another family. And I've gone through a big decision in terms of love, as well.

"Hectic" and "stressful" are complete understatements for the week that I've just been through.

So, to say that I need some retail therapy really isn't out of the question. Since I've been tweeting about a few pairs of SM Parisian shoes that I've just been dying to get my hands on, I'm so glad that I finally have the chance to splurge now, thanks to SM Supermalls and SM Southmall.

Guess where I just came from! Some place called Nasugbu. What was I doing there? Well, I fell asleep on the bus coming from Megamall coz I was sooo tired. Stupid, I know.

So: don't fall asleep on the bus, kids. Just don't. Ever. Or, if you do, make sure you don't have a Blackberry that's out of battery with you. It's not fun. Especially with the rain.

Anyway, let's talk about happier things, like why I was at Megamall. I was there for a personal Manels' VIP Sale! Happy day! :D

Obviously, this sale is a dream come true for me. If I had had more time, I would've gone to my favorite Manels branch in Trinoma; but, having just come from the Team Manila event in Rockwell, I didn't really have much of a choice.

I wasn't let down, though. As usual, I saw a ton of lovely shoes that my feet were just dying to find a new home in. Here are some of the shoes that caught my eye (I tried on most of them, too):

So, in true Wonder Woman fashion, I just got them all (parang Pokemon lang). What can I say? There's just something about Manels that I can't resist.

Also, there's something about buying the perfect pair of flats in all of the available colors. Which is also the reason why Megann got her pick in both colors, as well. Haha. Shopping-buddy-in-crime! Fortunately, we have the same shoe size and both live in the South, so we can just borrow each other's shoes anytime. Chyeah.

2012 Robinsons Department Store Beauty Fair

To be perfectly honest, this was my first visit to Robinsons Department Store since I moved back here in 2010 - and now I know that I have been missing out on a lot of great stuff! Can't wait to show you my haul and to go back for more beauty hauls sometime soon. :)

After our shopping escapades, we went over to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf for some coffee and endless chikahan.

 I was finally able to try out the Red Velvet Ice Blended Drink that I had been wanting to try out since my Resorts World days! :)It was delicious. It tasted more like cream than red velvet, but I loved it anyway. And the color was sooo pretty. :)

Beware the Puerto Del Sol Raffle Scam

While at the 2nd Mega Brands Sale at Megamall on Saturday, the babydaddy was approached by a lady who asked him to join a raffle draw. I thought that was a bit odd since we didn't buy anything from her and she didn't seem to have a booth anywhere - Henry filled up the stubs using the lady's palm as a table, for G's sake - I just chalked it up to regular Mega Brands Sales behavior, though. I was wrong.

Today, we got a text message that read:
"Good Day! This is regarding your participation during our promotional exhibit held at MEGA BRAND SALE). We have good news for u. Your name has been selected.You will received the GIFT CERTIFICATE,FREE HOTEL ACCOMODATION FOR 3DAYS & 2NIGHTS stay in our very own PUERTO DEL SOL in BOLINAO PANGASINAN,BORACAY, BOHOL, PALAWAN,CEBU, DAVAO & CAMSUR. for more info. Please call us at 6361860 or 6362883 ...look ms april nacis."

Although it kind of sounded awesome, I'm no newbie to winning things. In fact, I'm quite lucky when it comes to winning things, so I'm practically a pro in that department.

1. If the company is legit, they won't have that many grammar mistakes or spelling mistakes in a text message. And they won't be jejemon-ing it (u instead of you, etc).

2. If the company is legit, they won't just send a text message. They will always call to confirm who you are.

3. If I am doubting you, Google will always be there to help me out.

And since I raised my eyebrows because of 1 and 2, I decided to turn to Google. When I couldn't find Puerto Del Sol resorts in any of the destinations mentioned, I entered the text message content into the search engine and voila: I found this.

Just as I thought, it was nothing but a scam. I'm so glad I did my research first.

The moral of the story? Google is God in disguise. If you don't trust your instincts, trust the G. It has never let me down.
