Shop at the MaARTe 2012: Artisans Fair This Weekend!

Are you proud to be Filipino? Do you love Filipino arts and crafts?

Well, this weekend (August 24 to August 26, 2012), there will be an exhibition and sale of outstanding Filipino Arts and Crafts at Rockwell called MaARTe 2012 that you can shop at to get unique Pinoy finds at affordable prices.

At this fair, more than 40 cultural entrepreneurs, jewelers, home accessory and fashion designers will showcase the very best of Filipino arts and crafts with the aim to make artisanal Philippine products more accessible to the general public.

Since artisanal products are made by hand, they aren't made in huge quantities and are only available to those who know about them. Thanks to MaARTe, though, everyone can now be exposed to the beautiful works of Filipino artisans. Here are just some of the awesome things you will be able to find there:

You will also be able to find the National Artist Collectors' Series of Freeway at MaARTe this weekend, including the latest Levi Celerio pieces.

Bloggers United Part II: Are You Going?

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, then you must have heard of Bloggers United Part II by now.

The Bloggers United Bazaar (Part II) is happening at Treston International College in Taguig this weekend: on December 3, 2011. Yeah, I have no idea how to get there, either, but Ana has made it easy for us. Just follow her super detailed directions here.

Anyway, I'm going to be honest. I have no idea what Bloggers United Part I was like because, well, I only started blogging in September (noob!), but I do know Sarah Tirona of Ms. Eggplant's Chronicles is going to be there and I've been wanting to raid her closet for the longest time since we have the same clothing size and shoe size, so that's enough reason for me to go! Haha. Oh, no! Secret's out! BACK OFF. HER BOOTH IS MINEEE!!! :p

Ahem. Anyway, in a nutshell, Manila's fashion bloggers have come together to sell some of their pre-loved and stylish closet pieces at this bazaar in partnership with Multiply Philippines. Plus, there will be several exciting giveaways and fun contests going on during the day. How awesome is that?

Some of the notable bloggers you might bump into during the event include Divine Lee, Laureen Uy, Kookie Buhain, Lissa Kahayon, David Guison, Patricia Prieto and Daryl and Andre Chang of Preview Magazine! Even notable fashion bloggers of Cebu will be there, including Kryz Uy and Eden Villarba.

Part of the proceeds of this event will be given to the GMA Kapuso Foundation, as well, a small school-building project that hopes to do wonders in improving the Filipino youth's access to education.

All of this is possible, thanks to the organizers of BU: Ana Gonzales of The Fashionista Commuter, Melai Entuna of Style and Soul, and Aisa Ipac of Drowning Equilibriums.

Trendsetter's Bazaar + Happy Lemon + Beer Paradise

Last Saturday - oh my God, my backlogs have already reached 6 days! :( - I dropped by the Fashionpalooza Trendsetter's Bazaar at the Rockwell Tent to give Keigh her ticket and her Keep GC's, and to pick up my giveaways sponsored by Impulse Co., as well. (Join my latest giveaway here!)

Of course, I walked around to see what I could get, too, but everything was out of my price range, so all I got were some Keep shoes for Syrena, a samurai sword for the babydaddy (he practically begged for it!) and a handheld mirror with lights on the side ala beauty mirrors for me! I also got a new bag from Impulse Co. :)

What I loved most about that day, though, was that Keigh introduced me to Happy Lemon, so I finally got to try out their delicious Green Tea with Cheese and Rocksalt. I know it sounds weird, but I'm a cheese ADDICT, so it was the perfect drink for me.

Even Henry loved it - and I can usually never get him to try anything new.

Thank you for taking our pictures, Henry! :) As Keigh said, you're learning how to work the angles now. Haha.

At the end of the day, I also went to Beer Paradise in Polaris street for some drinks and two hours of pool with Henry's work buddies, Jay, Stefan and Ken.

They claimed to have 100 different kinds of beers at Beer Paradise - including chocolate beer - but they only had a handful... and no chocolate beer, to boot.

Still, it was great fun finally being able to play pool after almost three years of not holding a pool stick.
