If you have already read my review on the movie on my blog, then you should know exactly how I feel about the movie by now. If you felt in any way the same way that I did, then the DVD "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by C-Interactive is a definite must-have for you. Special thanks to them for my copy! :)
All of the parts that I missed from the book that weren't in the movie can all be found in the Deleted Scenes of the DVD's special features, including *get ready for this* the entire abortion scenes, the suicide poem scene, and a backstory on Susan and Michael. Plus, you'll even get to see an alternate ending!

Make sure you watch the deleted scenes with the director's commentary first, though, so you understand what they're about, where they were meant to be in the movie and why they were cut. I seriously pray that they decide to make an Extended DVD version. I would pay very, very good money for that.

On that note, I also incredibly loved watching the movie with the cast commentary on because it made me feel like I was watching the movie with Stephen, Logan, Emma, and the rest of the cast. Even when I was actually all alone. Like a real wallflower. :p

I also have to admit that I still cried while watching the DVD - more times than when I watched the movie in the cinemas... if that's even possible. #loseralert
So, if the movie version made you feel infinite, then the DVD version will make you feel mega-infinite. And this is where the good news comes in! C-Interactive has sent me an extra copy to give away to one of my readers! Woohoo!
Wanna experience the infiniteness of the DVD yourself? Then all you have to do is follow my blog through GFC and answer this question: Who or what was your favorite character, part or quote in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" (book or movie - doesn't matter!)
The DVD will be raffled off to one of the participants, so if you want bonus entries, you can also:
Like Wonder Woman Rises and C-Interactive on Facebook
and
Follow Wonder Woman and C-Interactive on Twitter
Good luck! :) I'm excited to read your answers!!! Giveaway runs until April 12, 2013, bee tee dub. :)
Of course, if you can't wait that long, you can just buy your own copy ASAP instead!
THE DELETED SCENES *(&&^%%^#$^%!! The suicide poem i'm excited to see!
ReplyDeletei like the book more than the movie, but that's not saying i don't like the movie at all. I just felt that there's so much more story/feelings/depth(?) in the book that wasn't felt in the movie - that non-readers would have appreciated. Buttt yes it's a hollywood movie so I don't really expect them to cover it end to end.
I really really reaaally love the book that I even patterned a blog entry as how charlie writes his letters (a failed attempt when i reread but whatevs haha). And in there I mentioned one of my favorite parts (an absolute random part for others but a great one for me):
"It's like he would take a photograph of Sam, and the photograph would be beautiful. And he would think that the reason the photograph was beautiful was because of how he took it. If I took it, I would know that the only reason it's beautiful is because of Sam.
I just think it's bad when a boy looks at a girl and thinks that the way he sees the girl is better than the girl actually is."
Told ya it was random. :)
My favorite character is Charlie because I can relate a lot to him. A lot of people think I'm this outgoing, happy-go-lucky kid but deep inside, I'm broken *cue the emo music* Despite having many friends, I still feel alone. I always wish i could be part of something great. Ok enough of the drama. Haha!
ReplyDeleteMy fave quote is:
"I can see it. This one moment when you know you are not a sad story. You are alive. When you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder and you’re listening to that song on that drive with the people you love most in this world."
This quote just gets me every damn time. I always close my eyes whenever I'm listening to Charlie's last letter. It's so beautiful. I just cry every time.
My favorite character is Charlie though I haven't read the book but I watched the movie twice. I just loved him because I really can relate myself to him. I love to make other people happy to the point that I forgot to love myself back. Charlie is fond of observing the actions of his friends and family but his not the tell-all person of his opinions and ideas and in some way we're quite the same because me as a friend, daughter, mother, girlfriend and sister, I am not as open as other people are to them. I wanted to keep my problems to myself.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Quote:
"It's much easier to not know things sometimes. Things change and friends leave. And life doesn't stop for anybody. I wanted to laugh. Or maybe get mad. Or maybe shrug at how strange everybody was, especially me. I think the idea is that every person has to live for his or her own life and than make the choice to share it with other people. You can't just sit their and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love. You just can't. You have to do things. I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm going to be who I really am. And I'm going to figure out what that is. And we could all sit around and wonder and feel bad about each other and blame a lot of people for what they did or didn't do or what they didn't know. I don't know. I guess there could always be someone to blame. It's just different. Maybe it's good to put things in perspective, but sometimes, I think that the only perspective is to really be there. Because it's okay to feel things. I was really there. And that was enough to make me feel infinite. I feel infinite"
I know it's long but that quote sums it up why I love the character of Charlie :)
I already have a copy but I'm still joining. If ever I win, I'll give this copy as a gift to a very special friend. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is Sam. Simply because I can relate. haha! ;)
ReplyDelete"I guess we are who we are for alot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them."
ReplyDeletemy fave quote is simple:
