Movie Review: Bad Teacher

Photo taken from here.

Definitely not the best movie of the month, especially since 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' was out last week, but it's still a good choice if you want to have a few laughs at the cinema. Jason Segel lovers, for example, are sure to love him in this. He has the best lines and is incredibly (though, as always, unusually) attractive in this. Of course, the whole selling point of the movie is that Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake team up in it after their infamous break-up in 2007, but the only real unforgettable JT-and-Cam moment in this movie is the dry-humping scene where he fakes an orgasm. Classic. (If you want, you can just watch that particular scene on YouTube, though.)

In a nutshell, 'Bad Teacher' revolves around a junior high teacher Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz) who quits her job because she is about to marry her sugardaddy. Unfortunately, when she gets back home, he dumps her, so she has no choice but to go back to teach. There, she meets rich boy Cameron (Timberlake) who has come in as a sub and who, quite obviously, has a thing for girls with big boobs. Elizabeth, with the resolve to win him over, hatches a plan in her head and starts saving up for some new boobs. Of course, in order to do this, she has to wear provocative clothes during the students' car wash and embezzle money from the profits, as well as help her students ace the state test in order to get a hefty bonus from the school.

With little plot lines "stolen" from various movies ('School of Rock' and 'Burn After Reading', anyone?), 'Bad Teacher' surprisingly works and isn't the waste-of-money movie that I initially believed it would be. It does give the audience some laughs and it definitely reminds me that I totally need a boob job…

Overall Rating: 3 stars out of 5
