Wednesday, March 28, 2012 Look: Help the Needy

If you are wondering why I have been looking a lil pudgy lately, it's because I spent three weeks in Bangkok in January. Right after a breakup. Doing nothing but eating, sleeping and drinking alcohol. I actually gained a whopping 3kg while I was there. True story.

Now, 3kg might not sound like a lot and, in theory, it really isn't. In fact, if given a chance, I would keep the current weight that I'm in.

Unfortunately, before I went on that fattening Bangkok vacation, I was a size 1. And, well, an added 3kg meant that all of my size 1 clothes no longer fit me. Neither did my size 2 clothes, actually. So, in other words, I had nothing to wear.

Thus, the title of this blogpost and the choice of dress that I am wearing in it. Ironically enough, the first blogger's event that I attended when I got back was a food event: the media launch of Relik Tapas Bar and Lounge - which, as incredibly delicious as it was, did not help the state that I was in.

gold wire headband from Anagon Collection

brown clogs from Manels

I know, I know. I use this headband and these clogs far too much, but what can I say? I love them to bits. I'm actually wearing those clogs again today and they were one of the few pairs of shoes that I brought to Bangkok with me. Comfortable, versatile and chic - what more could a woman want out of her shoes? :)

dress from eBay

I actually got this unbranded dress off of eBay for only 20 pesos. That's 40 cents. Chyeah. The best part about it is that it will still fit me, no matter how fat I get. :p

YSL-inspired ring from Marianne Matic of Not Your Ordinary Beautyqueen - thank you so much for this, Mar! I LOVE IT!!!

(left) a closer view of the print of my dress
(right) me and my beautiful princess, Syrena...

...who is, sometimes, just as much of a dork as I am.
No proper outfit shot for her, though, since she was walking around in nothing but her jammies that day.

What do you think of my outfit? Is it decent enough for an outfit post? What tips do you have for "fat days months"? I need them baaadly. I still haven't shed the extra weight that I gained on my trip. :(

  1. love the dress and looks good on you, very hippie:)

  2. Love the dress!! :)

  3. You are so pretty & I love the outfit! :) Ugh it is so hard to tone the body and lose some weight but it is possible :D Patience and self- discipline are a must! Right now I'm trying not to eat rice during my meals since they are filthy rich in carbs. Instead, I eat wheat bread, chicken, fish, steamed vegetables, fruits, oatmeal. I also exercise everyday by belly dancing. It is seriously effective. You can check out youtube and search for Veena and Neena Belly Dancing. Lastly, I assign one day per week as my "indulgement day" wherein I get to eat what I want as a reward for myself. Hope that helps :)

  4. even if you did put on a little weight i think you look great here!

  5. i guess you didn't gain weight at all. seriously, to me you look the same the last time I saw you. and you're sexy mother so don't bother! (rhyming?) haha! Believe it or not, I do not do any diet regimens. I eat everything but in moderation and that actually works! :) see you soon angel! :)

  6. Ohhh Syrena is so sweet and pretty!!!! You get be really glad that you still have that body, celecrate that! On the pictures I don't see a reason to make a diet. I like you they way you are;)

Wanna follow each other? I start right now;)

  10. so sad to hear about the break-up...i dont think you have gained too much weight, if even any.... no need to lose anything!! you look fine!! :) Love the dress but most of all the clogs!!
    Much love, Gabriele. xx

  11. i'm sorry to hear about the break up but i'm sure you will loose those pounds in no time :) love your look, your ring is amazing!

  12. I don't generally change the clothes I wear for when I feel fat. I can wear all the loose clothing I want, but it's the tight, uncomfortable feeling that motivates me to eat healthy. I think empire dresses are great for hiding a stomach though--that's my problem area.

  13. Actually you don't look fat in this dress.. i guess it helps that the details has some sort of vertical lines/pattern :)

ahh breakup and gaining weight.. i know that far too well! LOL! *hugs*

  14. cheer up dear, you still look great! btw, I love your dress and that kid is really adorable, nakakatuwa! :-)
