Oilily is Now Open in the Philippines!

When I got invited to a private viewing of the very first Oilily store in the Philippines a few days ago, my heart jumped. Oilily. It was a word that I had uttered and heard over and over again during my childhood.

See, I grew up in Germany when I was a kid and my cologne, my bags, my clothes, my stationery sets and my tin boxes - the ones where I kept my secret letters - were all from Oilily. The best part is that the first Oilily store is located in Alabang Town Center, just a stone's throw away from my place.

I was at the Oilily store the minute the mall opened and since I was the early bird, as usual, I took the liberty of looking around, reminiscing and taking photos of the place and the products before my fellow bloggers Angela and Rochelle arrived.

To my delight, everything was just as I had remembered. Although the Oilily store here in the Philippines only offers bags, accessories, cosmetics and cologne, the vibe was still exactly the same. Here is a virtual tour of the many things that caught my eye from Oilily Philippines:

Oilily's fashion bags - and even their iPad sleeves - are classic, chic and functional with colorful prints and creative designs on polyester fabric. Definitely something that every girly girl and ultra feminine woman will love!

Even for women like me who are less girly and more edgy and non-pink, Oilily has something to offer: darker colors and bolder prints on bags of different shapes and sizes, all of which are just as eye-catching as their daintier counterparts.

The Sea of Flowers collection, pictured above, features an Art Deco-inspired floral motif in colors of cayenne, rock, deep ocean and bronze.

For those who love bright colors and prints, there is the Mixed Tapes collection, which sports an all-over print in pink and green colorways and striped motifs.

This particular collection really screams "Oilily" since the brand is known for its virtuoso use of color, unique blend of cultural influences, humorous details and high quality.

This is definitely my favorite print in the bunch and I can't wait to get my hands on it! The thing is: Oilily makes limited edition prints, so the prints that are currently in stores for Fall/Winter 2013 will never be available again in the future.

Generally speaking, Oilily is all about creativity that leads to fresh ideas, original products and unexpected initiatives, thus their motto: "Make new things happen."

As mentioned earlier, Oilily was my brand of choice as a child, so it isn't any wonder why I went crazy checking out the kids' section for Syrena. I can't wait to introduce her to the wonderful world of Oilily! :)

As you can see by their designs, Oilily bags are true trendsetters that dictate their own niche market. Right now, they are celebrating their 50th anniversary by opening their first store in the Philippines at Alabang Town Center. They have just opened a kiosk at Greenbelt 3 today, as well! :)

Will be posting outfit shots of me and the baby with our favorite Oilily finds soon! Stay tuned! For now, please like Oilily Philippines on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/oililyph :)
