Movie Review: This is the End

"This is the End" is one of the best comedies I have ever seen - and that is not an understatement.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty picky in terms of comedy. In fact, I wouldn't really go out of my way to catch comedies in the cinemas unless they are Kevin Smith or Judd Apatow-related. And, well, I guess that pretty much explains why I thought "This is the End" was so fucking awesome!

Let me start by saying that the storyline was completely out of whack. And I mean that in a good way. I mean, okay, you start off in the classic Team Apatow kind of way with the stoner jokes and the sex jokes, but things just go totally out of control from there.

I actually didn't watch the trailer until last night (and only coz someone spoiled it for me! *ahem*); but even after watching the trailer, I didn't expect the story to go where it went. Like, at all. So, in order to enjoy this movie to the fullest, go in without any expectations or without knowing anything about the movie at all. You will not regret it!

Second of all, the cast was out of this world. All the way until the end! While we had the expected cast as seen above, "This is the End" also had some awesome cameos to boot: Michael Cera, Emma Watson and Rihanna, for instance.

The awesome-st cameos were just far too awesome that I wouldn't dare ruin them for you by mentioning them here. Take it from me, though: they are epic. You seriously need to see this movie. NOW. (This isn't even a sponsored post. I swear!)

Thirdly, everything was just completely unexpected. From the "bad guys" to the storyline to the cameos to the deaths... man. I could go on and on about this movie and never stop. It's just that darned good!

I just wish I had some people on Team Apatow with me to discuss the awesomeness of their movies with over coffee or (in true Apatow style) beer and some joints. ;) But hey, watch this movie and we'll definitely already have a lot to talk about.
