Amanda, Loving Life Press Launch

Motherhood is far from easy. I seem to have forgotten this.

See, my dad had a stroke last month and had my daughter under his care for at least a month. According to him, she was his "medicine", so I didn't have her around my roof everyday and visited her at my dad's place instead.

My dad is all better now, thank God, and now that I have my lil munchkin back, I feel the need to reiterate my original statement: motherhood is far from easy.

As much as I'd like to pretend that I've gotten the title of Wonder Mom perfected, I really don't. And because of this, I was more than happy that I attended the press launch for "Amanda, Loving Life" last month at Aria Cucina Italiana in Bonifacio High Street. (Thanks for the invite, Kira!)

"Amanda, Loving Life" is a high-end locally produced lifestyle show dedicated to young urban mothers of today. It is hosted by former Channel [V] VJ and model turned Super Mom, Amanda Griffin-Jacob.

I was able to see snippets of the show and what to expect during the press launch and I can confidently say that it really speaks to the growing needs of today's mother. It especially speaks to that special need that I believe every mother has: the need to know that we can do it all and have it all, if we so choose to.

Amanda Griffin-Jacob is the beautiful mother to the adorable two-year-old Kieran, and she told everybody at the launch that she is currently pregnant with baby number two, too! Congratulations! :)

If you are a mother yourself, how would you define motherhood? In a recent interview, Amanda herself defined it perfectly: "Motherhood has transformed me into a much better version of myself - more patient, responsible, and loving. Having a child makes you step back and take a look at your life and your perspective shifts. It has to because you no longer have the right to be selfish. You have a person completely dependent on you for their survival, development and mental nourishment."

For more insights, tips and tricks on surviving motherhood and enjoying the simple pleasures and joys of it, tune in to the Lifestyle Network at 7:30pm every Sunday night, starting tomorrow. :)

And, if you are a young and newbie mom like me, then you will also find Amanda's online resource and guide, Glam-O-Mamas, exceedingly helpful, too! You can also follow Amanda Griffin-Jacob on Twitter here. :)
