September Movies to Watch Out For!

I'm so happy that September looks like an awesome month for movie-watching. Finally some movie dates to look forward to!

September 7: Fright Night

Finally, a vampire movie that doesn't involve sparkly vampires and cheesy though drug-addled lines. Plus, the 1985 version was so classicly awesome IMO and Colin Farrell is being praised to no end for his role here, so this is sure to be just as great as the old one, I've decided.

The plot: Charley Brewster thinks his neighbor is a vampire responsible for all of the recent deaths in his neighborhood. Naturally, nobody believes him, so he asks a so-called 'vampire killer' for help.

The verdict: I actually have a lot to say about this movie, so I'll be reviewing the 1985 version and the new movie after I watch it on the 7th. Wait for that instead. Can you tell I'm really, really excited to see this?

September 14: Spy Kids: All the Time in the World

Apparently, this is the kiddie movie of the month. And apparently it's in 4D. I'm still not sure what that means or if Manila cinemas will actually be embracing this new technology, but get ready to... smell(?) the action?

The plot: Since this is the 39081503rd Spy Kid movie to come out in my lifetime, I'm sure you all know by now that it's about a family of spies fighting some bad guys who want to take over the world.

The verdict: It sounds lame, but the kids will love it. And then they'll ask you to buy spy gadgets for them afterwards. The good news is that dads will get to drool over mommy Jessica Alba in this one! Wait. Was she in the old ones?

September 21: Glee: The 3D Concert Movie

Although you won't be able to... smell(?) the action, you'll get to enjoy watching your favorite Glee characters sing on the big screen in 3D.

The plot: It's a documentary. Of the Glee cast singing. At one of their concert tours. Whoopee.

The verdict: Obviously, Glee lovers will love this. I don't like Glee, though, and I don't really want to pay extra just to basically watch bad TV on a huge screen - and without even a plot in sight, so... next, please!

September 28: Friends with Benefits

Read my full movie review for this here.

TBA: Contagion

I saw the trailer for this before watching Apes and it looks very promising. After all, it's got an awesome cast, a lot of action and a zombie-like plot. What's not to love?

The plot: A threat of a deadly disease is facing the Earth and a team of doctors are trying to control the outbreak.

The verdict: Although the plot is zombie-like, the movie seems to focus on people more than anything and how they would deal with something like this... Would they tell other people? Would they isolate themselves? Would they try to pretend it isn't there? Would they alert the authorities? Watch the trailer here.

TBA: Horrible Bosses

I'll be posting my review for this within the next few days, so watch out for it! :)

Which one of these movies are you the most excited about and which ones will you definitely be catching in the cinemas this month? Tell me! :)
